Tomorrow morning the first official leg of my road trip begins! It took longer than expected but the start is finally here! I sold my house the first week of June. The time since then has consisted of tying up loose ends, saying goodbye to friends, and making plans.
Finally, in the morning, I will head to Michigan. Then to Canada. Then West. My itinerary is not fixed because that is not what I want. This about letting go and resetting.
As I keep reminding myself, there is no rush.
No rush.
None at all...
As much as possible, I intend to sleep in my car or in my tent. Below is a picture from my practice run in NW Arkansas last week. I made a few adjustments, but the basic setup is the same. It's pretty cozy.
My friends and family are amazingly supportive and helpful. In all honesty, I expected a lot more push back. However, it seems that folks, especially those who know me best, recognize that this is something I need to do.
So, tonight Saint Louis. Tomorrow, Sleeping Bear Dunes!
